Grand Central, Skelhorne Street
A £35million development at the corner of Bolton Street and Skelhorne Street is planned by international Irish developers Chieftain Construction.
Replacing an earlier proposal for a 32 storey tower that was rejected by the Council and Secretary of State, this new scheme consists of a mixed use 12 storey development comprising a 151 bedroomed four star hotel, 88 apartments (possibly serviced through the hotel) and a 39 space basement car park.
Approval was granted in April 2007, and it is believed that construction may begin in the first half of 2008.
