Hall Lane Strategic Gateway

Computer drawn visual of the proposed Hall Lane road scheme, looking North towards Prescot Street/Kensington junction

This £16m scheme involves the creation of a new access road between Edge Lane and Islington and will provide a much improved gateway for vehicles entering Liverpool from the east.

The new layout will improve both east-west and north-south traffic movements in this location. As well as improving the entrance to the city centre for motorists it incorporates facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

Extensive landscaping will provide a much more attractive route.

Development opportunities will be created including the formation of a new frontage to the proposed Royal Liverpool Hospital development.

Work is scheduled to start in June 2008 but it is not anticipated that work during that year will affect traffic in the area. The project will be completed by the end of 2009, and will link up with Edge Lane West.
