St Paul's Square - Phase I

Images of the proposed development at St Pauls SquareSt Paul's Square is one of the biggest developments taking place in the city and one which will bring high quality office space into the city's growing business district.

The English Cities Fund development will transform the site next to the former Littlewoods' office tower and will provide workplaces for around 3,000 people.

Six buildings, designed to the highest standards - which will set the standard for new business space in the city - will be arranged around a new landscaped public square in the area fronted by Old Hall Street.

About 350,000 square feet of office space with ground floor shops, cafes, restaurants, 68 apartments and decked car park will be created in this £100m scheme.

The first phase consists of a 125,000 sq ft, sandstone-clad office building, residential apartment block, shops, restaurant and 400-space car park. Building work commenced in Summer 2005 with completion expected by the end of 2007.

The footpath along Old Hall Street next to the works will be closed for the full duration of the works to ensure safety of pedestrians.

Work on the other two phases will be completed in 2010.
