Wellington Employment Park
Wellington Employment Park is located off Atlantic Avenue, the A565, a key corridor linking Liverpool city centre and the Port of Liverpool. It sits immediately next to Sandhills railway station.
Infrastructure works costing £2 million have recently been completed here using Objective 1 and other funding.
A further £13 million being spent by Haydock-based developer Langtree is currently helping to create new industrial workspace in an extension to the original park at the following two sites.
- Wellington Employment Park South
Aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, the development includes twenty industrial units from 1,429 to 20,661 square feet built in four light steel-framed blocks.
Greenbergs, one of the largest employers in the area, will be the first to relocate to Wellington. However, there is also ample space for new firms to move in and take advantage of this new business location, with 322,290 square feet of available space capable of supporting some 460 jobs.
A large part of the site houses McBurney Refrigeration Ltd, refrigeration haulage contractors and cold storage providers.
The final phase of the works to build industrial units will take place during early 2008. - Connect Business Village
To be completed by January 2008, this development comprises 15 own front door, two storey office buildings. The offices will provide a range of ground and first floor accommodation, with units from 1,626 sq ft (151 sq m) to 3,925 sq ft (365 sq m) available together or as single.
Managed workspace with conference facilities will also be available in Centrix House.
Over time the two sites will have the capability to be extended to create up to 322,920 square feet (30,000 square metres) of office, light industrial and distribution space to serve the needs of existing and new businesses in the area, providing employment for an estimated 460 people.
