Paradise Project - Highway Works, Liver Street and Strand
A series of highway works and hard landscaping including the construction of ramps and tunnels from Strand Street to the new underground car park are taking place. They include temporary works and enabling works for traffic diversions.
The programme is:-
NEW ROAD AND RECONSTRUCTION WORKS
- Dualling of Liver Street between Wapping and Paradise Street (completed).
- Price Street, new roundabout at the bus station, Hanover Street from Price Street to Gradwell Street (completed).
- Part of Gradwell Street and Seel Street and a new link-road between Gradwell Street and Seel Street.
- Footway between Police HQ compound, the bus layover/multi-storey car park and bus station.
- Strand Street from Canning Place to James Street/Mann Island junction
ALTERATIONS TO EXISTING ROAD LAYOUT
- Strand/Mann Island junction.
- Part of Duke Street near Hanover Street junction.
- Liver Street Wapping junction and Wapping between Liver Street and Canning Place.
- Red Cross Street.
MINOR ALTERATIONS AND OTHER WORKS
- James Street and Lord Street
The work is scheduled as follows:-
- Price Street - August 2005 to September 2005
- Strand enabling works -Spring 2005 to Spring 2006
- Strand ramps and tunnels Winter 2005 to July 2007
- Reconstruct Strand Street - July to May 2008
- Hanover Street - Summer 2007 to May 2008
