Whitechapel City Centre Movement Strategy

Above: Eleanor Rigby in Stanley Street. Below: Whitechapel, outside the Met QuarterWhitechapel and Stanley Street, around two sides of the Met Quarter, were repaved with high quality materials during the summer and autumn of 2007.

Stanley Sreet is home to the famous Eleanor Rigby statue, that sits on one of the stone seats at the side of the Met Quarter building.

Stanley Street has now been made two way, but terminates at its junction with Whitechapel.  The street has a taxi rank down one side, replacing the previous taxi rank which had been in Whitechapel.

Whitechapel itself is now a much clearer, cleaner, uncluttered pedestrian route between Queen Square and Church Street.
