Edge Lane Drive

The completed scheme at Edge Lane DriveEdge Lane - one of the main gateway routes into the city centre - is undergoing a £65m improvement scheme.  Three quarters of the scheme have now been completed, with only the remaining section, Edge Lane West, not yet started.

Edge Lane Drive was the second phase of the project, stretching from Rathbone Road to the Rocket junction with the M62.  The works started in Summer 2006 and were completed in Autumn 2007.

The scheme included re-landscaping the central reservation, the removal of the concrete footbridge, pedestrian crossing improvements and the closure of the central reservation at Domville Road.  Speed cameras have also been installed to enforce the speed limit of 30 mph in this area.
