Edge Lane - one of the main gateway routes into the city centre - is undergoing a £65m improvement scheme. Three quarters of the scheme were completed by December 2007.
Edge Lane Central (Part 2) consisted of the section of Edge Lane between Rathbone Road and the Marconi Complex.
The scheme involved redesigning the complex junction at Rathbone Road, with new kerbs, paving, street lighting, improved pedestrian crossing facilities, resurfacing of the existing highway, new feature lighting and tree planting.
The work, which started in June 2006, was substantially completed in late December 2007.
