City Square, Tithebarn Street

City Square, Tithebarn Street

City Square is a £30m scheme bringing high quality office space to the commercial sector of Liverpool.

Situated at the junction of Tithebarn Street and Moorfields this development by Shepherd is a joint venture with Scarborough Development Group PLC.

Some 144,133 square feet (13,390 m²) of office space on six floors plus basement car parking at a ratio of 1:1,000 square feet (1:92.6 m²) have been provided, along with an attractive reception area leading off Tithebarn Street.  The scheme also incorporates a coffee shop.

In early 2004, 106,000 square feet were pre-let to the Department of Constitutional Affairs for a new Civil and Family Justice Centre.  The development will centre all civil court operations around Merseyside in one location, bringing together the new civil and family justice centre which brings together all the civil courts and the family aspect of Liverpool magistrates' courts for the first time.

This development will bring 550 jobs, giving a vital boost to the retail and leisure markets of the City Centre as a whole.

Work started in November 2003.  During the construction period a traffic management plan was put into operation involving the partial closure of Moorfields, with diversion signs to ensure minimum disruption to pedestrians as well as to the busy traffic flow.
