For those who live, work or shop in Liverpool, and know the city well, it is obvious how much the city has changed in recent years.  Whilst Capital of Culture brought visitors into the city in droves during 2008, and they were able to see many new and positive developments here, how many people know that Liverpool has been quietly winning awards for its efforts in regeneration?

Between 2005 and 2008, Liverpool's so-called BigDig may have had its critics, and whilst disruption was caused in the run up to Capital of Culture and 2008, the benefits are now clear for everyone to see.  All that hard work put into new buildings and repaving our streets has continually been praised by various organisations who have been handing out awards.
