Public views sought on city plans
Liverpool people are to be asked their views on a major document which will guide how the city develops over the next 20 years.
Public consultation is about to start on the Local Development Framework Core Strategy which identifies broad locations for delivering housing, employment, retail leisure and transport.
And people will be able to express their views through a new on-line system which has been designed to be user friendly.
It can be accessed thorough the Council's website http://liverpool-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal/ (will open a new window) which allows people to make comments on specific parts of the report and view other comments which have been made.
The document will also be made available for viewing and comment at libraries throughout the city.
The consultation starts on March 28, 2008 and will continue until 9 May.
Cllr Mike Storey, Executive Member for Regeneration, said:
"We have tried to make it as easy as possible for people to make their views known on this very important document.
"We want to know what people think of these proposals and how developers, land owners, the utilities and others can help us deliver them.
"And we want local residents and businesses to tell us how this change can best benefit them and the places where they live and work."
When the consultation is complete the comments received will be considered by the Council's Executive Board and a draft plan compiled which will go out to a final round of consultation.
