Bold Street: United Utilities works up to Berry Street continue all week, but the road will remain open to traffic and work will take place for seven days a week to ensure speedy progress.
Church Street/Lord Street: City Centre Movement Strategy Improvement works began in May 2006 and are now approaching completion. The work has been carried out in sections to keep disruption to a minimum and access has been maintained at all times.
From January 27th until April 27, carriageway works will require the closure of Lord Street from Castle Street to North John Street and North John Street will be closed from Lord Street to Harrington Street. An area of North John Street from Cook Street to Harrington Street will be made two-way for access to shop premises. Bus stops on Lord Street will be moved to Cook Street and all pay and display will be suspended on all the above roads and parking restrictions applied.
The pedestrianised zone of Lord Street and Whitechapel one way system will be suspended for the period of the closure. Access to the pedestrianised zones will be closed as follows:
Mathew Street/North John Street 10/03/08 until 27/04/08
City Centre Loading Restrictions: In order to improve traffic flow within the City Centre, loading restriction times have been extended.
Loading is now not allowed from 8am to 10am, and 4pm to 6pm in the following areas only:
The full lengths of Dale Street, James Street, London Road, Pembroke Place, and part of Castle Street, (looking towards the Town Hall - the entire right side and the left side from No 8 to the junction with Water Street).

East Prescot Road: There will be roadworks to reconstruct the carriageway at the junction with Queens Drive from 7pm, Friday, April 11 to 6am, Monday, April 14 and the road will be reduced to one lane in both directions running on a contraflow. The junction will also be subject to 4-way temporary traffic signals with only one direction running at any time. This will have a sever impact on the match day traffic for Liverpool v Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, April 13, kick off 1.30pm.
In addition work at the Greyhound roundabout on this road will continue until early June and involves lane closures.
Edge Lane/ Rocket Junction: All works are nearing completion, but some lane closures will still be necessary on slip roads to install additional lighting from March 17. Lane closures will affect only one of two available lanes and will not affect traffic flow or require any diversions or closures.
Enterprise-Liverpool Maintenance Works: Enterprise-Liverpool manages street works on behalf of Liverpool City Council. Hanover Street: Hanover Street between Bold Street and Seel Street is closed for public realm works for the Grosvenor scheme. Manestys Lane and College Lane are closed to vehicles and pedestrians from their junctions with Hanover Street.
Kingsway Tunnel: There will be slight delays for maintenance work in the Wallasey to Liverpool tube from 9.45am to 3.30pm on Tuesday, April 15 and in the Liverpool to Wallasey tube on Thursday, April 17. There will be further slight delays in the Liverpool to Wallasey tube from 10pm to 6.30am from Monday, April 14 to Thursday, April 17.
In addition there will be slight delays on the Gorlink South approach/exit road towards the M53 when the nearside lane will be closed for essential landscaping work from Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18, 9am to 3.30pm. Also on Tuesday, April 15 a Variable Messaging Sign will be installed north and southbound of the Gorlink road when the nearside lane will be closed in both directions from 9am to 3.30pm.
The Paradise Project Development Works: The Paradise Project completes in Autumn 2008. Throughout the construction period, sections of highways works will take place. The current road works are shown below.
There will be a change in traffic management on The Strand. The next main traffic switch will be towards the end of September with two lanes maintained in each direction. Works on The Strand will be in place until March 2008.
Lower Hanover Street is now closed between the Canning Place roundabout and Liver Street junction to allow for the safe construction of this area.
The current phase of works on The Strand involves lane restrictions between Canning Place and Liver Street, and Red Cross Street and James Street junction. Two lanes will be maintained in both directions during peak hours.
Paradise Street is closed to pedestrians and vehicles from its junction with Hanover street right through to School Lane.
The area of Paradise Street between Lord Street and School Lane is subject to restricted pedestrian access as work commences on the construction of the Public Realm. Access to all retail units along this stretch will be maintained.

Queens Drive: As part of a £36m, 18-month project laying electric cables from Liverpool to Kirkby, there will be delays on Queens Drive but diversions will be in place and clearly signposted.
Queensway Tunnel: A 28-day closure notice has been issued for the week commencing Monday, April 21.
School Lane: School Lane remains closed between the junction of Church Alley and Peters Lane. Entry into School Lane from Hanover Street is now restricted and access is now via Brooks Alley.
ScottishPower Reinforcement Works: The programme of works will continue throughout the City over the next three years, affecting pavement areas as well as carriageways.

The Strand: The Strand southbound between the Albert Dock and James Street will have two lanes in both directions maintained until the completion of the works, currently scheduled to coincide with the opening of Liverpool ONE at the end of May 2008.
From the start of February the right turn from Strand Street into Mann Island has been prohibited to allow the construction of the new junction. Southbound vehicles can enter Mann Island via Brunswick/Georges Dockway or continue down The Strand onto Sefton Street and use the roundabout at Brunswick Way to approach from the South.
The right turn into James Street from Strand Street is closed to general traffic. Only buses, taxis and cyclists are able to turn right.
The Strand intersection, opposite Red Cross Street, has been closed for the duration of all the works on The Strand.
The southbound footway is now closed and advice signs are in place to guide pedestrians onto the western footway.
